The Research Status, Hot Topics and Trends of R&D and Indus⁃ trialization of Core Technologies in Key Fields  

——A Bibliometrics and Qualitative Analysis

Abstract: China has entered a critical period of innovation-driven development, and the  breakthrough in core technologies in key fields has becomes a major issue related to the overall  development of our country. This paper applies bibliometric analysis methods to analyze the research status, hot spots and trends of R&D and industrialization of core technologies in key  fields, and to identify the key literature in this field. This paper uses qualitative analysis methods  to logically summarize the important points of the key literature, to promote the formation of a  common knowledge base for research in this field. It is found that English research covers the  topics of identification methods of key technologies, the relationship between key enabling technologies and regional economic development, and the relationship between key technologies and  innovation cooperation networks. But the theoretical research on R&D and industrialization of  core technologies in key fields has not become the focus in English literature. The R&D and industrialization of core technologies in key fields are major practical issues in China. Chinese  scholars have contributed more theoretical thinking with Chinese characteristics based on practical issues. Through analyzing Chinese key literature, it is found that the present research has  covered many important aspects such as literature review, theoretical framework, measures and  suggestions, etc., mainly focusing on the research on the connotation characteristics and the  breakthrough mechanisms of core technologies in key fields. The latter includes research on the  characteristics of technology deficiencies, the bottlenecks and challenges, the classification of  different breakthroughs, and the breakthrough paths of core technologies in key fields. Theoretical circles have gradually formed a consensus on the way of thinking from an innovation ecosystem perspective, the institutional framework of developing different policies based on different issues, the research paradigm for integrating innovation, and the policy orientation of effective coordination between demand-side management and supply-side reform. The frequency distribution of high-frequency keywords in Chinese literature reflects two major research perspectives: Macro-overall strategy and Meso-level industry breakthrough. Through the analysis of domestic  hot topics, three topics are summarized, which are the breakthrough of stranglehold technology, the domestic substitution of core technologies in key fields, and the tackling systems of core technologies in key fields. The first topic has become the core proposition, and the latter two topics  are important research directions derived from the core proposition
